Global Freshwater Scarcity

Our group thought that this was an important map for the class to see.

From this map, you can see that Africa has the most scarcity of water

Group 1: Trends for freshwater in India

India is a country with a population of 1.2 billion people. Fresh drinking water is very important because of how many people live in the country.

At current rates, by 2025 it is expected that nearly 3 billion people will live below the water stress threshold. The water stress threshold is how much clean freshwater is accessible for the population. If more people need water than is currently available, there will be struggles to find clean water

Another issue with future water in India is the trend that by 2050, per person water availability is expected to drop by about 44% due to growing populations and higher demand, as well as higher pollution levels. This is why we must begin to clean up our globe.  Pollution has a serious impact on our freshwater drinking supplies.
